Particularly while working from home, you may find Outlook as a problem opening, and may show the following error:




Follow these steps to rebuild your Outlook profile and re-enable mail access.


  1. If you are working at home, ensure your VPN is established (Traffic Lights are green)
  2. Click on the Windows button and type Control Panel, click on Control Panel.
  3. Open the Mail option, click on Profiles, and click Outlook. If you do not see Mail, click the View By menu and select Small Icons.
  4. Click Remove. It may present an error, you should click OK or Yes.
  5. Click Add, name the profile Outlook, and click OK.
  6. Continue clicking next or OK as Outlook completes the setup.
  7. Tick change account settings box and click next
  8. Untick use cached mode and click finish
  9. Once created, close the Mail box, close Control Panel, and open Outlook.

At this point, outlook will need some time to download your most recent mail items. In the meantime, you can continue using Outlook normally.
