In order to connect your myGovID to your ESAM (ESS) user identity, you will be required to accept an invitation to RAM.
RAM is the government online system Relationship Authorisation Manager.
You will receive an email to your MADEC email address with an authorisation code. Once you receive this, follow these steps:
- Go to https://authorisationmanager.gov.au/
- Login using your myGovID (ensure you enter the email address you used to sign up to myGovID)
- Enter the authorisation code you received via email. (you may find it easier to type it in rather than copy and paste) and click OK/Accept
- Finally, you will need to tick the box for the security declaration and click Accept.
Should this process fail at any stage, it is likely because you have been invited using a name that does not match. RAM requires the same full name that your myGovID has been setup with. For some users, this will include middle names, or extra surnames, etc. For others, it will not.
If this occurs for you, please send an email to the IT Helpdesk and advise us of the Full Formal Name used in your myGovID. Open your myGovID app, and tap "My Identity" at the bottom of the screen. We will need to know exactly what it shows your Given Name/s and Surname are.
Once we update your details in RAM, a new authorisation code will be sent to your email where you can then follow the steps above to complete the invitation.
If you have an existing ESAM account for logging into ECSN/ESS, you will now need to link this to your myGovID. A solution article will be provided for this step.
