Install & Configure Webex - Remote Staff

These instructions will enable you to download, install and configure the Cisco Webex software which will enable you to make and receive calls via your PC.

Ensure you DO NOT run this software on a remote session (RDFarm or Remote to Workstation). This only works if you install on the laptop/device itself. Before following these instructions please sign out of the remote session.


  1. Click this link: https://www.webex.com/downloads.html Download the correct version for your Operating System (Windows 32bit or 64bit, or Mac Intel or Mac M1)
  2. You will now need to run this installer. Click the download from the bottom of the browser window, or open it from your Downloads folder.
  3. Allow the program to install leaving all settings as default.
  4. Once installed, run the program, and accept the End User License Agreement.
  5. Click the Sign In button, and enter your MADEC email address.
  6. Follow the Microsoft sign in instructions, using your MADEC email address, and MADEC login password.
  7. Once signed in, you can make calls and receive them. The software will use your default microphone and speakers, which should be the headset when plugged in. If your sound is not using your headset when on a call, you can click on your initials in the top left corner, then Audio. Here you can choose your output (headphones) and input (headset microphone) devices. 


If you recieve a firewall notification after installing, please allow Webex for all networks (Domain, Private and Public).
