A. When moving a computer from onsite to offsite location , please see the process below .


  1. Exit ( close ) running applications ( including Outlook ) ;
  2. Shutdown computer ;
  3. Once shutdown has completed , and computer is powered off , close lid ;
  4. Transport computer ;
  5. Power on computer , and sign in ;
  6. Check internet connection is active ;
  7. Connect VPN ( Sophos Connect ) ;
  8. Open applications .



B. When moving a computer from offsite to different offsite location , please see the process below .


  1. Exit ( close ) running applications ( including Outlook ) ;
  2. Shutdown computer ( VPN will automatically disconnect ) ;
  3. Once shutdown has completed , and computer is powered off , close lid ;
  4. Transport computer ;
  5. Power on computer , and sign in ;
  6. Check internet connection is active ;
  7. Connect VPN ( Sophos Connect ) ;
  8. Open applications .

D. Note that while working offsite , best practice is to sign out of computer if it will be inactive for more than a few hours ( ie over night ) , and repeat steps B5 - B8 the next time it is required ( ie next morning ) .
